“L’Ellisse” is dedicated to the investigation of Italian literature
from its origins to the twentieth century, mainly using the tools
of textual philology, with special attention to political history,
social contexts and the links between geography and literature.
The birth of the literary works, the way they take shape on the
authors’ desk, the stages of their fortune, are the core of many
articles published in the journal, in the largely shared belief
that philological analysis is a fundamental feature of critical
interpretation. The Ellisse publishes essays on authors’ papers
and variant readings, on historical and literary sources, on
manuscript tradition and early printed editions, on the fortunes
of authors and works in later periods; furthermore it also
hosts researches on new scholarly fields and publishes critical
editions of unknown or little known texts.
The journal has
semiannual periodicity; it is subject to peer-review and maintains
an ANVUR type A classification.
