Since 1990, the Atlante tematico di Topografia antica (Thematic Atlas of Ancient Topography) has hosted the works of two hundred and ninety academic and independent scholars from universities, superintendencies, research institutes, public and private entities. All contents contribute to increase the advancement of topographical studies with new data, discussions, critical reviews and the use of traditional and innovative tools. In the thirty published issues thus far, attention has been paid to structural, political, social and economic dynamics, including the study of cities and territories. The historical contexts, the complexity of the phenomena underlying the construction of infrastructures, monuments and the transformation of the environment were considered. The researches published are characterized by an open vision, from a disciplinary and chronological point of view, and appear to be aware of the meaning that every study can and should have in society. Single particular themes of interest are developed in the journal’s supplements. The journal has annual periodicity; it is subject to peer-review and maintains an ANVUR type A classification.
