This article concerns a group of Attic black-figure hydriai attributed to the Leagros Group,
previously published in the Corpus Vasorum Antiquorum, edited by Piera Bocci. The vases are here
described and studied again following the new organisation of Attic pottery at the Archaeological
Museum of Florence in the 1990s. An introduction explains the difficulty of identifying definitely
the provenance of vases housed in the Museum's Antiquarium, most of which come from the 19th
century Camnpana Collection.
A summary of the main features of the Leagros Group - addressing
Beazley method of stylistic analysis based on visual recognition of an artist "handwriting" is
followed by a catalogue of 15 vases and fragments.
