The
article
deals
with
a
volume
(Donati
1994)
on
the
excavation
of
an
Etruscan
house
carried
out
on
the
north
slope
of
Roselle
during
the
1980s.
The
field
work
had
recovered
a
continuous
development
of
domestic
architecture
on
the
site
running
from
the
Orientalising
period
to
the
early
decades
of
the
5th
century
B.C.,
the
last
being
the
construction
of
the
Casa
dell'Impluvium
in
the
mid-6th
century
B.C.
The
building
was
centred
around
an
atrium
with
impluvium,
the
first
example
of
this
type
in
Italy.
Its
remains
offer
the
possibility
of
reconstructing
the
original
architecture
and
organisation
of
life,
room
by
room.
The
article
answers
the
questions
and
discusses
the
problems
suggested
by
some
scholars.
