This study aims to show that a cameo in the Florentine Archaeological Museum with an impressive female idealized profile, close corresponding to few other pieces, represents a portrait of Antonia Minor sub specie deae. The austere portrait type, sculpted in a purely classical style, achieves the Antonia 's greatest importance as prominent member of imperial family; she became a key figure in the augustean tree-family, assuring the succession.
