Discovery of human remains in the Pompeian suburb and at the sites of Herculaneum
and Stabiae
The present research supplements the cataloguing, positioning and insertion in the stratigraphic layers of the eruption of August 24th, 79 A.D. of its victims, thus completing the outline of the discovery of human remains in the Vesuvian area.
Collected from excavation diaries and archival sources, the data presented here relates to the finding of bodies in the Pompeian suburb, particularly in the two key sites of Moregine and Bottaro, as well as in the city of Herculaneum and by the cluster of
buildings at Stabiae, on the Varano hill. (trad. inglese A.Raimondi Cominesi)
