Reviewing the material from the orientalizing necropolis of Veii - Casale del Fosso it has been possible to attribute to the workshop of the Pittore di Narce a group of 14 vessels (9 of them unknown, 5 already partially known), some reassembled from several fragments. Overall analysis of this group of ceramics, with the support of chronological data derived from the discovery contexts (1 fossa tomb with burial loculus and 6 chamber tombs) enabled us to specify and verify the hypotheses advanced so far on the phases of this production, to be placed now between the beginning of the first and the beginning of the second quarter of the 7th century B.C.: this study in fact also noted, for the first time, the activity of a group of not very able apprentices (or possibly imitators), operating apparently later than the more highly skilled craftsmen, whose activity may be circumscribed within the first quarter of the century, as already shown in the previous literature.
