This essay introduces the project focus of the group I coordinate, within the broader scope of research on the Insula
Occidentalis, of the area between the entrance of Porta Marina and the woodland area below the Bourbonic mound
beneath the so-called Casina Fiorelli. Having seized the opportunity to be included in a general redesigning of the
area, promoted by the reorganization of the current access point in via Marina and the dismantling of the adjacent
ex offices of the Superintendence, the research group carried out a methodological study aimed at restoring and
improving fruition and levels of accessibility of the suburban Baths and the area’s reconnection with the city built
in the south and with the western suburban area.
