The area downstream of the Bourbon mound forms the extreme edge of the Insula Occidentalis towards the contemporary city of Pompeii. These include a new pedestrian path extending from the Suburban Baths to the Villa of Diomedes, which adds scenic and naturalistic value to the possible itineraries for visiting a complex and stratified site such as Pompeii.
