On the plateau occupied by Cales, it is proposed that the forum was located south of the separation marked by the entry of the via Latina in the city. The baths were built in the late Republican period on the eastern side of the square. The analysis of the building highlights its strong monumentality, its inclusion in the monumentalization program of the central area, begun in the II a.C. and continued in I a.C. with the thermal construction.

Sul pianoro occupato da Cales si propone che il foro fosse posto a sud della bipartizione segnata dall’ingresso in città della via Latina. Sul lato orientale della piazza, furono edificate in epoca tardo repubblicana le terme. La rilettura dell’edificio ne evidenzia la forte monumentalità, il suo inserimento nel programma di monumentalizzazione dell’area centrale, iniziato nel II a.C. e proseguito nel I a.C. con l’impianto delle terme.
