Since the end of the 18th century, epigraphic evidence for Roman leges municipales and leges coloniae is constantly growing, enriching our knowledge of Roman public law. Most recently, two bronze fragments of the lex
municipalis of Troesmis in Moesia inferior from the times of Marcus Aurelius' and Commodus' joint reign (177–180 AD) were published by Eck. The
text on tablet B starts within regulations on the minimum asset of election candidates. According to the editio princeps, the lex then raises the minimum age of candidates for priesthoods. The following reference to Augustan
legislation is said to concern the calculation of the candidates' individual "legal age". A critical revision of the inscription's text leads to certain modifications.
