The study reviews the remains of two kilns of the late Samnite period, already published preliminary, found beneath the pavement preparations of the Casa dei Fiori (VI 5, 9-10, 19) and the domus VII 15, 9 -10. The new analysis of data collected during the excavations
provides more information on the extension of the two plants and the production and distribution of manufactured goods in the urban
context.
The figlina located in the area between the civic 8-9, 19 of insula VI 5 was active between the end of the third and the first half
of the second century BC, producing opus doliare, amphorae and cumanae testae. The other production was rather active from the begins
to the half of the second century. B.C. and it occupied the entire south-eastern part of insula VII 15, in the area between the civic 4-10,
producing amphorae and fire ware.
