Villa Arianna was a otium seaside villa with that took great advantage of the local production of hinterland as shown by the locally
production Dressel 2-4 amphorae. However inhabitants had needed a big supply of other food for a diversified diet and to satisfy their
luxus. Wine, oil, fruits, defrutum, salsa e salsamenta and the other products came from the other Mediterranean regions. The various
ceramic classes show a good standard of living ‘in villa’. It allows you to learn about the production, circulation and consumption. You
can make comparison with forms of ceramic classes and amphoras from Pompeii. 3000 ceramic fragments kept in a deposit-kitchen of
the villa have witnessed the economic and social history of Neronian and Flavian age. It has been possible to reconstruct and identify the
diagnostic types.
