The causes of Iulia Domna’s success were many: alliances with the most important Roman gentes, social transformations, the emergence of new values and political ideals. This, however, became something else through a semiotics of the power that alluded to the protection of the communis patria and of the balanced unification, guaranteed by a monarchy that represented the will of the Roman people and expressed itself in the Constitutio Antoniniana
