Rapporti tra Crustumerium e l'Etruria. La ceramica
In: Bullettino della Commissione Archeologica Comunale di Roma: 113, 2014
This report briefly considers Etruscan pottery imports found in the cemeteries at Crustumerium.
In particular, it examines some representative bucchero items and a number of white-on-red vases.
The bucchero is almost certainly imported from nearby Veio. Although white-on-red is a fabric associated with Cerveteri, it is possible that at least some of the examples found at Crustumerium were produced locally. It is argued here that an important group of unprovenanced white-on-red vases, now in a new museum at Fordham University in New York City and recently published by the author, may have come from Crustumerium.
