The aim of this work is to show that some of the votive heads published in 1976 by
Marinucci in his book
Stipe votiva di Carsoli, Teste fittili
come not from Carsoli but from
Falerii. In 1873 a shrine and a votive deposit were found at Civita Castellana, along the
Fosso dei Cappuccini. A few years later, Kieseritzky began to study this context and Scalabrini
made some drawings of the materials.
Thanks to the detail in Scalabrini's drawings, which were published by Blanck in 1990,
it has been possible to recognise that some of the votive heads published by Marinucci in
his work on the deposit of Carsoli in fact come from Falerii, and in particular from the
shrine in the Fosso dei Cappuccini.
