Gli acquedotti romani di Verona

Lo studio parte dalla ricostruzione del percorso degli acquedotti che in età romana garantivano l’approvvigionamento idrico della città di Verona. In particolare è stato possibile identificarne due: uno proveniente da ovest ed uno da est, rispettivamente dalla località di Novare e Montorio. Queste antiche infrastrutture non avevano ricevuto la giusta attenzione dalla precedente tradizione di studi, pertanto l’indagine propone di sopperire a tale mancanza, tentando anche d’interpretare le implicazioni urbanistiche insite nella loro realizzazione.


The study starts reconstructing the layout of the aqueducts which in Roman times assured the water supply of the city of Verona. The research identified two structures: one came from East (Novare) and one from West (Montorio). Previously none has studied these ancient infrastructures in detail and the research’s purpose was to fill this gap, offering an interpretation of the urban implications of the building of the aqueducts.
