This paper's aim is to put under revision, with a chronological purpose, the most important classes within the black figures, the superposed colours, the black glaze pottery and some transport amphora productions of central Tyrrhenian Italy, between the last quarter of the IV and the end of the III century B.C. A short history of the question is firstly proposed, dealing with the most important contributions in the history of the studies and focusing especially on the most recent works. The complex of data know up to now has been approached in a critical way, by the choice of some special contexts, whose primary importance lies upon the kind of pottery published, the state of edition and the frequent chance to link the story of pottery productions to that of the roman world. The revision of these pottery groups, chronologically placed into a precise sequence, has allowed the identification of some pottery ensembles which appear to be typical of different moments within the chronological range under exam.
