The bronze disc presented in this article, depicting a charioteer and his horse, offers evidence for a possible interpretation of its function, suggesting that it may have been fastened as a decorative element to a small chest, possibly, or a prize won at the circus. The monogram, here displayed on the horse's croup, also suggests interpretation at the level of symbolic value as well as indicating some juridical and economic aspects of the trade in circus race horses in the late Roman world.
