Cooking wares, even if quite well-known from the typological point of view, have never been the focus in Pompeii of a specialized study
about its production system and the imports from the regional area and also from an extra-regional perspective, apart from imports from
the Aegean and northern Africa.
The morpho-typological study closely related to fabric analysis and archaeometrical analysis permitted to
reconstruct a productive and commercial landscape more complex than what previousvly believed, with a patchwork of micro-regional,
regional and mediterranean productions.
