Recent restoration activities of the northern portion of insula VIII 2 have allowed to carry out some stratigraphic investigations. The restoration of the marble floor plan of the municipal civic building number 6 (probably the tabularium of the city) has allowed to identify
several building phases with a chronology between the Archaic period and 79 AD.
In a phase between the middle of the 4th and second half of the 2nd century BC can be placed the creation of environments with artisanal functions, of which only the negative traces are preserved. At this chronological phase are to be reported a deep circular well and a funnel-shaped pit.
The well was obliterated around the last quarter of the 2nd century BC with a large deposit of fragmented amphorae. The amphorae are
Greco-italic, Punic and Punic-Sicilian ones.
