Un amuleto votivo dal Foro della Pace: diffusione del culto degli arcangeli a Roma tra tarda antichità e alto Medioevo
In: Bullettino della Commissione Archeologica Comunale di Roma: 121, 2020
Archaeological excavations carried out by the «Roma Tre» University at the Forum Pacis brought to the light the post-antique phases of the north-western area of the cult chamber. At the beginning of the Middle Ages, this area was obliterated by an accumulation of debris, in which a large amount of material has been found, including a small find with a Greek epigraph: a votive amulet. The finding of this object in this archaeological and chronological context allows the author to present an analysis of the thaumaturgical beliefs during Late Antiquity and the beginning of Middle Ages in Rome, as well as the development of the cult dedicated to the Archangels.
