The green landscape of the Park is a mosaic fruit of both human action and natural processes. The greenery introduced by man consists of various types – gardens, vineyards, hedgerows and woodland, fruit groves. There are also communities of plants that have ‘taken over’ abandoned areas, colonizing them. Special attention has been given to the cypress, the most widespread tree species in the Park: it was probably introduced by Fiorelli, who wanted to use these trees in the area of Porta Ercolano.
