Real estate heritage, compatibility of land use for its conservation
Real estate recovery programs must respect and comply with the Law and Regulations in a manner
consistent with international conventions.
In 1995, the classification of buildings by category was proposed to determine land use. In 1999, 7,461
properties were classified, on this basis which it considers; antiquity, construction systems, integrity of
structure, preservation of spaces, deterioration and partial or total demolitions.
In 2007, the criteria for the preservation of the categories were approved and published and are in force
to date.
Despite this, arbitrary interventions continue with the consequent loss and destruction of historical
monuments.
For this reason, government bodies need to converge and be consistent with each other in order to carry
out validation of works and projects.
Therefore the programs that are implemented in the historical area should promote the rescue of the built
heritage since Puebla holds the title of World Heritage Site before UNESCO.
