Evergetismo femminile e statue-ritratto a Regium Iulium

Female Evergetism and statue-portraiture at Regium Iulium.

This study examines Latin and Greek inscriptions testifying to acts of female evergetism in Rhegion/Regium, on the occasion of the discovering of a portrait statue found in Reggio in January 2022. The woman depicted had received the honour of the portrait statue in her lifetime for her personal merits or those of her family during the age of Commodus; later, the portrait would have been subjected to disfigurement and reuse.
